for over a decade I've been infatuated with giving out valentines. My earliest memories start with my mom sister and grandma. Running to the 99 getting the cutest and coolest valentines for classmates I barely remember. Picking out the fit for Valentine's Day, hoarding cute shiny sticker packs they only make during this time of year. Thank God we have Daiso now. But, the colors, smell, shiny foil stickers. All of it excited me.

When I entered middle school valentines kinda meant more you'd usually give them to your friends only and people you had crushes on, me being me, I saw it as an opportunity to just spend art and love to all. I created homemade valentines with pictures of me from staged photo shoots between classes, BUT edited to Vogue standards. To say the least people loved them and were anticipating the next ones I'd do. Haven't stoped yet. this year you're in for a treat.

Clownhearts emerged after losing my grandmother in 2019, her favorite thing in the world beside her 13 children were clowns, specifically black, traditional clowns. As a kid I didn't understand but now everytime I see one I think of her. 🤍 I created a paper art clown face for her valentine that year and it stuck a cord in me visually, emotionally and even the process of creating the Clownheart.

The next year I would make huge 7x6 transparent art stickers of a clownheart.

Since then, her baby boy, my father has pasted on and he was the second to get a paper Clownheart dedicated just for him.

This years Clownheart goes to my girls who started my love for Valentines. e, brandi & gmoney. love you three, mwah. xoxxoo
